Time management is about organizing your life so you have more time to do what is important to you.

 

We all have 24 hours in each day, and how we spend it makes all the difference in the world. In fact, there is never enough time to do everything. On the other hand, there is always enough time to do the important things.

Time management is not about filling every moment with productive work. Instead, it’s about organizing your life so you have more time to do what is important to you. In light of that, few other skills will improve the quality of your life as much as the skills of time management. In short, time management revolves around spending more of your time focused on things of higher value.

 

Stop Trying to Multitask

Multitasking is great on occasion. For example, you can brush your teeth in the shower, or prepare coffee while you make breakfast. However, sometimes you misinterpret multiple open tabs in your browser with multitasking. As an example, the key principle of proper time-management is prioritizing.

Multitasking, which some consider a necessary skill to being efficient, is not a virtue. More than likely, it’s killing your productivity. In fact, few of us can focus on more than 1 or two tasks at a time. Actually, research shows that multitasking can reduce your IQ by as much as 10 points, cause mental blanks, and reduce your productivity by 40 per cent.

Focusing on one task at a time will bring you better results, because you perform them without distractions. Regardless, if you are used to multitasking, try doing one task at a time, and then compare the results. With this in mind, you might be surprised. (MultitaskingMakesYouStupid)

 

Get Fit

This is a little-appreciated productivity tactic: exercise is one of the greatest productivity tools in the world. For this reason, an active person is a more productive person.  In general, getting to your best physical condition creates energy, renews your focus, and multiplies your creativity. 

Most people claim they are too busy for exercise, but even 10 active minutes a day can reduce stress and boost your brain power. First, working out offers an energy boost and builds your immune system. In addition, it increases your physical and mental stamina, and (yes) it can help with those extra pounds, too.

 

Call It a Day (Stop Striving for Perfection)

After a certain point, you reach a limit. Specifically, where your limit falls is different for everyone, but what it is never changes. To emphasize, when you know yourself well, you know when you’ve reached that point. With this in mind, it is tempting to push past your limit, but you risk damaging what you accomplished. In summary, learn to recognize when you have reached the end of your day.

Although it’s a mark of dedication to strive for perfection, if you are never satisfied with yourself, you only end up with a lot of stress. To put it differently,being detail-oriented is a virtue, but you may lose a lot of time on unimportant little tasks. In this way, your productivity decreases, and you become exhausted.

 

Peak Productivity Isn’t About Luck…

It’s about consistency. Yes, planning takes a little time. Start with a clear path to success. For example, productive creative people follow daily routines. (i.e., when they would get up, when they would start work, when they would exercise and when they would relax). With this in mind, it’s impossible to be productive and focused all day. Therefore, take time to replenish and rejuvenate your body and mind.
